چکیده

Surface treatments are commonly employed on woven fabrics to render properties such as dyeability, antibacterial feature, self-cleaning, etc. A variety of environmentally benign cold plasma present a viable alternative the conventional wet chemical processes. The various designs, however, may differ in efficiency and effect they exert fabrics. In this work polyester fabric was treated by diffuse co-planar surface barrier discharges atmospheric air for lengths time. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy investigation revealed that changes chemistry occurred within 30 s treatment. Carbon containing contaminations were removed became more oxidized, new states have not been developed. As an effect, wettability wickability significantly increased. slight increase roughness also after treatment according AFM measurements. tensile strength showed gradually decreasing trend with respect time could be attributed damaged sites generated local excessive etching plasma. results show detrimental prolonged poly(ethylene-terephthalate) (PET) Employing longer times 120 180 mechanical reduced ca. 40% 50%, respectively, without significant morphology.

Surface Modification of Polyester Fabrics with Vinyltriethoxysilane

Surface modification of polyester fabrics was studied aiming at improving the water repellency property. Vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES) was employed as surface modifying agent. Prior to application, VTES was prepared in aqueous emulsion using cetyltrimethylammoniun bromide (CTAB) as an emulsifying agent. The application of VTES emulsion was carried out using a padder and followed by curing at 150C...

Bending and Compression Behaviour of Polyester Air-jet-textured and Cotton-yarn Fabrics

Air-jet-textured polyester yarns were produced using two feed yarns differing in filament fineness and number of filaments. By varying the yarn overfeed, filament fineness and air pressure, four textured yarns were produced. Woven fabrics were prepared using these textured yarns as weft and cotton yarns in warp. To study the effect of air-jet-texturing parameters on the bending and compression ...

-plasma Treatment on Woven Plain Polyester Fabric in Adjusting Hydrophilicity

Hydrophilisation of polyester textile materials has been investigated over the last twenty years using low-pressure and atmospheric plasmas. According to these studies, wettability and capillarity of fabrics can be significantly improved depending on the process gas used. In the present study, the effects of low pressure O 2 and NH 3 plasma on the morphology and topometry of fabrics on four dif...

Optimization of atmospheric air plasma for degradation of organic dyes in wastewater.

This study optimises the degradation of a cocktail of the dyes methyl orange and bromothymol blue by atmospheric air plasma. Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to investigate the efficacy of the plasma process parameters on degradation efficiency. A Box-Behnken design (BBD) was employed to optimise the degradation of dyes by air plasma discharge. A second order polynomial equation ...
